Here’s what you can expect when you stay at The Hof.

  • The House

Originally named The Whiteface Farm, our late 1800s home retains the easygoing comfort it was built for. You’re invited to relax, read, watch TV, play games and visit with other guests in the common rooms and on the stunning front porch. Ask for an outdoor blanket so you can lay on the deck and stargaze in the astonishing dark of the mountains. Click here to tour the house, grounds and see area sites: The House and Grounds.

  • The Food

Breakfast is served every morning from 7:30-8:30 and we love to cook! The Hof Granola and Buck’s Apple Pie Pancakes are quickly becoming guest favorites.

We offer a hearty and healthy option each day and if you’re getting up and out early to play in the mountains, let us know - we’ll leave a grab and go breakfast in the guest fridge for you. We’re skiers too so powder days are delicious grab and go for the whole house! ⛷😉

  • The Amenities

Staying at The Hof is a relaxed, unique experience so get ready to unwind. You’ll get a great night’s sleep in the quiet of the mountains. The house has free WiFi, in-room temperature control and hotel amenities in your bathroom. We have a guest fridge with soda, bottled water and Gatorade for purchase and you’re welcome to BYO beer, wine and other beverages.

  • The Experience

In addition to our outdoor adventures, we’re music buffs so let us know what you like to listen to - especially at breakfast when we’re all listening together! From doo-wop to jam, jazz and classical, we’ve got it all and love to talk music. You’ll see references to music all around the house too.

  • The Activities

We love the sense of community when the house is full and everyone’s sharing stories of the day’s activities. Whether you hiked a High Peak, walked a Flume trail, found some amazing art at a gallery or took the glass enclosed elevator to the top of the ski jumping complex, there’s always an adventure to be had.

  • The Area

The saying “location, location, location” defines The Hof. At the north end of the Adirondack High Peaks, 2 miles from the base of Whiteface Mountain and 9 miles from Lake Placid - home of 2 Winter Olympics - a stay here is the best balance of access to the outdoors and peace of nature with incredible restaurants, great shopping and the charm of a world class mountain town just down the road.
